Privacy Policy
Effective August 23, 2026
In short: Dog Schedule collects only what it needs to connect dog owners with walkers โ your name, email, photos, and approximate location. We never sell your data, never show you ads, and never track you across other apps or websites. You can download everything we have on you, or permanently delete your account, at any time from Profile โ Danger Zone.
1. Information we collect
Dog Schedule is built on Firebase (a Google Cloud service). We collect information you provide directly, plus a small amount your device provides on our behalf so the app can function.
| Data | Why we collect it |
|---|---|
| Name & email address | Create your account, identify you to other users, sign-in with Google/Apple/phone |
| Phone number | Only if you choose phone sign-in โ verified via SMS, never shown to other users |
| Profile, cover, and dog photos | Shown on your profile and to matched walkers/owners so people know who they're meeting |
| Precise location | Show nearby walkers, match owners to walkers, track active walks in progress |
| Messages & chat photos | In-app conversations between owners and walkers |
| Walk & scheduling details | Bookings, availability, rate proposals, walk history |
| Push notification token | Deliver alerts for new messages, walk requests, and updates โ only if you allow notifications |
| Bug report screenshots | Only if you choose to submit one from Settings |
We do not collect analytics identifiers, advertising IDs, or any data for cross-app tracking. Dog Schedule's App Store privacy label declares tracking = false, and that's accurate โ every data type above is used solely for the app's own functionality.
2. How we use your information
- Match dog owners with nearby walkers, and walkers with nearby walk requests
- Show your name, photo, and approximate location to other users as part of that matching โ this is the core of how the app works, not optional data sharing
- Power in-app chat between an owner and a walker once they're connected
- Schedule walks, track availability, and record proposed and agreed rates
- Send push notifications for messages, requests, and schedule changes
- Keep your account secure and prevent abuse
3. Who can see your information
Other users. Your name, profile photo, dog photos, and bio are visible to other signed-in users browsing the Community list, exactly as the app's core function requires. Your precise location is never shown to other users directly โ only your approximate distance, and only while you're actively listed as available or on a walk.
Service providers. Firebase (Google) hosts our database, file storage, authentication, and notification delivery. Google Sign-In and Sign in with Apple handle authentication if you choose those options. None of these providers use your Dog Schedule data for their own advertising.
Nobody else. We do not sell your data. We do not share it with data brokers or advertisers. We do not have a marketing mailing list.
4. Storage & security
All data is stored on Firebase (Google Cloud infrastructure) and transmitted over encrypted connections. Firestore security rules restrict each user's data to what they're authorized to read โ for example, only the two participants in a conversation can read its messages. No system is perfectly secure, but we don't store passwords ourselves (Firebase Authentication handles that) and we don't keep payment or financial account details anywhere in the app.
5. Your data, your control
Download your data. Profile โ Danger Zone โ Download My Data generates a complete export of everything tied to your account โ profile, dogs, walks, conversations โ as a file you can save.
Delete your account. Profile โ Danger Zone โ Delete Account permanently removes your account and every piece of data connected to it โ profile, dogs, conversations, and uploaded photos โ from our systems. This happens immediately and can't be undone. The one exception: a walk you did with another person stays in their walk history, showing your name as it was at the time โ deleting your account doesn't erase the other person's own record of a walk that already happened.
Both are self-service โ no support ticket required. If you'd rather we do it for you, email us at the address below.
6. Location & notification permissions
Location and notification access are both optional and controlled by iOS. You can change either at any time in your device's Settings app, or from Dog Schedule's own Settings screen. Turning off location will limit nearby-walker matching; turning off notifications means you'll only see updates when you open the app.
7. Children's privacy
Dog Schedule is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it.
8. Changes to this policy
If we make a material change to how we handle your data, we'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, let you know inside the app.
